Expectations were definitely nonexistent when I entered the multiplex, to catch some sleep. Oops to watch Shaurya. Last week’s release One Two Three had prepared me to take on any movie and leave the theater mentally sound. So I said to myself,” Bring on what you have Samar Khan(director of Shaurya) and I am ready to face it”.

Five minutes into Shaurya : “Ok, another of those patriotic army movies. Get ready for some preaching, Amit”

Ten minutes into Shaurya : ” Oh! So they are aping A Few Good Men, this time round. Time to find some sleep.”

Fifteen minutes into Shaurya : “Is it really getting interesting? Or am I hallucinating”

Twenty Minutes Into Shaurya : “The movie has me hooked.”

If you are a pro-blogger then these few days must have been like waiting for your exam results to come out. Tense moments, bad dreams and miserable thoughts. And why not? Google’s PR (Page Rank) Update was on it’s way.

Google had warned various publishers that selling text links ads on their web pages and hence tampering Google’s algorithm would adversely affect their sites PR. And the warning wasn’t just an empty one.

The recent Google PR update toppled various famous sites PR and there were cries of dismay all around the blogosphere. Some problogger’s like Johntp suffered a major PR drop from PR 6 to a measly PR 3. Other PR 5 entertainment sites like Ourbollywood and Naachgaana slumped to a docile PR 3 from a healthy PR 5.

My Advice To Bloggers

Crying too much about the loss of PR wouldn’t do any good. I strongly recommend bloggers not to purchase links. Create a better blog to get quality traffic to your site and create a larger reader base. That’s the only mantra for a successful blog.

Now moving to the point of should you continue selling Text Link Ads? I guess if you think your major source of revenue is through selling text link ads, then it makes no sense removing them. Ask yourself , why you want a high PR . Is it just too command respect on the internet or is it too make a lot of money? If the answer is the latter then removing text link ads would be nonsensical. As if you want a good PR to sell links and if Google will decrease your PR if you sell links. Then you are in a real catch 22 situation. So do not care about Google and just go ahead and sell those links.

Twenty Twenty world Cup Match. India v/s England. A do or die situation for both the teams. Sehwag’s and Gambhir’s brilliantly orchestrated innings were made to look miniscule by one angry young man, Yuvraj Singh.

After a rather disappointing Twenty Twenty tour so far, Yuvraj was blazing guns on Wednesday Night. A tiff with Andrew Flintoff had Yuvraj all charged up. And the next thing was balls flying all over the park. A helpless Broad could just look up at the skies as balls went flying in the air.

Caught up with Abbas Mustaan’s Naqaab yesterday. 2 hours and out of the theatre, I must say other than the rather unusual twist towards the end which I failed to perceive, the mmovie was pretty much bad. I thought that yes, the directors did thread a dangerous path with the script and I did appreciate that. Although it’s execution being pretty much bad. But when i did a bit of googling on the net I realised the movie was simply a lame copy of the Hollywood thriller Dot The I. So that was it, no points to Naqaab for the script too.

If you have read my previous post then I might seem like a rather fickle minded person. First I advocate you to join Mginger and then i say do not join it. Ok now if I have made a mistake and I am ready to accept it and hence would prefer others take heed of my advice and not join Mginger.

It has been weeks since i joined Mginger and i have just got two messages by them and guess what are my earnings? Just 40 paise!!!! Damn it ….. that’s not enough to buy a Chloromint also. On top of that I have a referral network of 30 friends. So either the Mginger programmme is a total failure or its a scam. So I would like to advice all my readers not to indulge in it. If you have already registered, no problem. There’s no harm. But if you haven’t then ….Stay Away From It.

Mginger might still be good and maybe it just has not got too many advertisers and hence it is not able to provide mobile users with ads. But still I would advice all those who want to join it to wait and see whether the thing actually works.
